About Lelia
I first discovered craniosacral therapy when I was off work for 8 months in 2015 with chronic fatigue and burnout. A friend, who was training at the time, offered me some sessions and after the third session I was back to work within 6 weeks! I was completely blown away by the change in my energy levels and my vitality returned.
Shortly afterwards, I decided to train in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy for two years with Body Intelligence Ireland, graduating in 2018.
I have a lifelong interest in wellness and alternative therapies which I have studied over the past 20 years. I previously trained in IET (Integrated Energy Therapy) and Reiki and have also studied with the Scandinavian Centre for Shamanic Studies in Sweden.
Recently I was part of a project where a group of therapists worked in Sligo CIL with service users who had physical, intellectual and sensory disabilities. This experience was very humbling and challenging because as a therapist I was trained to work in a specific way so I had to be creative and find new ways of working and communicating. I cannot describe how rewarding it has been working with Sligo CIL and witnessing the changes in the services users from one week to the next. It has really renewed my sense of excitement and passion for this work. It brings me a lot of joy to witness the healing and integration of the physical, emotional and mental aspects of a person’s being and the subsequent progress people make between treatments. I genuinely believe in the natural intelligence and healing power of the body when it is supported in a very safe and gentle way.
I love West African drumming and dance, qigong, immersing myself in nature and travelling – discovering new cultures and meeting new people. These are my resources which keep me well, happy and in balance.
